E.H. Larkin is an Australian author and academic, based in Queensland. Emily holds a Doctor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of the Sunshine Coast, and has tutored in Creative Writing and Communication at The University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology International College, and USC. She is the author of The Whirlpool, a picture book illustrated by Helene Magisson and published by Wombat Books (2017). Emily’s fiction has featured in Australian and international literary journals, including Meniscus, Seizure, Idiom 23The Zodiac Review, Flumes, Literary Orphans, Streetlight Magazine, After the Pause, and Number Eleven Magazine. Emily has presented research on how speculative fiction may illuminate depression for emerging adults at the 2018 Great Writing International Writing Conference (Imperial College, London), the 2018 Storytelling Conference (University of Suffolk, Ipswich), and the IABA Life Narratives Conference (Central Queensland University, Noosaville). Emily loves running writing workshops for children, teens, and adults, and volunteers at the Queensland Writers Centre.
